WELCOME TO WYLAM BREWERY!!
TEL: 01661 853377
Established in May 2000 by Robin Leighton (Dec'd) and John Boyle who shared a mutual passion for real ale and a quality product. Following three months of experimentation and a lot of market research in the local pub, their first cask of Landlord's Choice was produced in August 2000.
The Brewery grew rapidly on the strength and quality of its ales, winning many awards at festivals around the UK, the most popular of which are:
Gold Tankard - Champion Beer of the CAMRA Tyneside Festival and Darwen Lancashire Festival

Wylam (Summer) Magic - Champion Beer of the CAMRA Cotswold Festival 2003 (Runner up 2004)
Following the sad loss of Robin Leighton in April 2005, the Brewery continues to be developed by John Boyle. His son Matt Boyle joined in 2006 and provided the youth and energy to drive the business forward to the point when production more than doubled in the years to 2011.
In 2006 the Brewery also outgrew the existing 1000L plant and relocated to bespoke premises at Heddon on the Wall (on Hadrian's Wall). The team brought on stream a new 3500L plant in August of that year.
The Brewery team grew quickly with the addition of Ben Wilkinson and Lee Howourth in the Brewery, experienced Draymen Danny Lynch, Kevin Appleby, Mick Robson and Tom Shaw, and the Production team members Chris Lee and Stuart Ross.
Growth has continued to go from strength to strength and we now have a wide variety of regular beers in cask (9g and 18g), polypins (10L and 20L) and bottles (500ml) available for sale to the trade and private customers.
